UN granted Special Consultative Status to ACED

The United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) at its Coordination and management meeting of July 2015 adopted the recommendation of the Committee on Non-Governmental Organizations (NGOs) to grant special consultative status to ACED. Consultative status for an organization enables it to actively engage with ECOSOC and its subsidiary bodies, as well as with the United Nations Secretariat, programmes, funds and agencies in a number of ways. These ways include attendance at meetings and access to the United Nations, written statements at ECOSOC, consultations with ECOSOC and its subsidiary bodies, and oral presentations at ECOSOC.
This Consultative Status reaffirms the highly relevant contribution of ACED to major world development matters such as food security and environment protection. We are very thankful to all our partners and funders for assisting us in accomplishing that.
